U.S. space agency (NASA) will “fly” any photographic images that they upload photos on the site of Face in Space to the International Space Station.

Campaign “Face in Space” was part of NASA’s tradition to bring souvenirs out of the scope of the Earth’s atmosphere, as well as take advantage of the opportunity before the plane Discovery and Endeavour retired.

As quoted from the Telegraph page edition Tuesday, June 8, 2010, carrying souvenir or a memento to the vacuum has become a tradition of NASA since long ago.

Since 1997, the mission of the shuttle carrying the signature of school students in the program called “Student Signatures in Space”. At that time, the Cassini spacecraft carrying a diskette containing the signatures of the students into the orbit of Saturn.

While the Phoenix Mars Lander carrying a DVD containing the signatures to the north pole of Mars and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter plane carrying a microchip to the moon.

However, this is the first time the public are invited to submit photos of yourself each and then taken to outer space.

People aged over 13 years can upload photos and select one of the last two shuttle missions. After the shuttle returned, they could print some sort of “flight certificate” signed by the commander of the mission.
